In the city that never sleeps, they do have some damn good coffee and breakfast spots to keep everyone going!

So here’s our favourite picks, from pretty and trendy cafes to hearty bites that would change your blues even on a Monday morning...

Jack’s wife Freda
Poached Eggs on Sourdough at Jack's Wife Freda

Brunch! Possibly one of the favourite words for any local and tourist around NYC; pretty breakfast bowls, avocado everything and cosy atmosphere are just few of this Cafe’s deals, and they do them pretty good.

Although there are a few spots around Manhattan, I recommend to try the Chelsea branch before kicking a power walk along the Highline!

The Butcher’s Daughter
Eggs Benedict on Avocado Toast - The Butcher's Daughter

Another day, another must fuel-up-brunch!

We really enjoyed this Aussie-style spot (although the space is really tiny and can get a bit

cramped) for its cozy relaxed “Sunday” atmosphere and those Eggs Benedict on avocado toast that I am still dreaming of...

Once again, this cafe has two or three branches as well so make sure you pick the one that suits your journey better!!!

Bluestone Lane 5th Ave
Arches and coffee machines - Bluestone Lane

We came here after a friend’s suggestion and I must admit that we wouldn’t have found it otherwise…

This lovely tiny cafe is tucked inside the historic Church of the Heavenly Rest and features five or six shared tables were, after quite a decent wait, you can enjoy some deliciously healthy plates between sandstone features and archways.

Although the outdoor tables facing Central Park sound just like a dream, I would strongly suggest to fight for a spot inside where the atmosphere is just like no other.

NoMo Kitchen

It’s hard not to remain fascinated by Soho’s bohemian shops and artsy bar and, even if probably a bit on the “cliche’” side, Nomo Kitchen will hardly leave you disappointed.

Located within the NoMo SoHo Hotel, this industrial-chic location is a mix of crystal chandeliers and tropical plants, with a touch of street art and minimalist design as well.

It might sound like a weird hazard but the result is surely eye catching and picture-friendly, not to say a great location to fuel-up with some brunch classics like scrambled-eggs or sweet treats.

Still hungry? Head to

1. Levain Barkey (Harlem) for the most indulgent and doughy american cookies.

2. Archway Cafe’ for a quick bite french-style just under the Brooklyn passage

3. Junior’s for the best New York Cheesecake (TimeOut) in a typical American-Diner atmosphere.

4. Magnolia Bakery for their iconic desserts, specially famous for the Banana Pudding.
